Your applications stay yours

Last updated:

WriteApply is built to work without accounts. Here is exactly what happens to the information you enter.

What we don’t do

Saved in your browser

Your answers, the document you’re editing and your language choice are saved in your browser’s local storage so you don’t lose work if you refresh. That data stays on your device. Choosing “Start a New Application” clears your answers and document, and so does clearing your browser’s site data.

Until you choose a website language yourself, it is picked automatically from your browser’s language settings — or, if none of them is available, from the country reported by our hosting provider. No third-party service is involved, and the automatic choice isn’t saved. Choosing “Automatic” in the language menu removes a saved choice.

Sent for AI writing

When you write or rewrite an application, the details you entered are sent securely to our server, which forwards them to OpenAI’s API to generate the text. The response is returned to your browser and not stored by us. OpenAI processes API data under its own policies; see OpenAI’s policies.

Our server may keep short-lived technical logs (such as error messages and request counts used to prevent abuse) that do not include your application text.

Tips for sensitive information

Children

Students of any age can use WriteApply. Because we don’t ask for accounts or email addresses, we don’t knowingly collect personal information from children. Younger students should use the website with a parent, guardian or teacher.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your information, we’ll update this page and the “Last updated” date above.
